Where's a Camera When You Need One?: 2004

Continuing on with thanking those who had served us, we stopped by the place where we got our prescriptions. They knew we were coming and everyone had brought their cameras. There were lots of picture taking with Mr. and Mrs. Santa. Leaving them we traveled around the store to greet the other employees. By the camera department we met a father and his teenage daughter who were so excited to happen upon us. As we were visiting, we noticed that the father was purchasing, then frantically opening, a disposable camera.

When asked about it, he told his daughter that he wanted a picture. So more pictures were taken, with the help of another customer who took our pictures and then whipped out her cell phone to get some of her own.
The father was as excited as a little child and he told Santa, "You are fulfilling some dreams here."

Santa said he remembered bringing him that fire engine red, pedal pusher car, years ago.

The man told him he remembered it well and how he peddled his little heart out to get up the street.

Now, I wished I had a camera for the look on his daughter's face.

We checked out with four boxes of candy canes and the young man who waited on us looked like a cat who had swallowed a mouse. I mean, how many can say they sold candy canes to Santa? They were for the hospital visit the next day. We left our good friends at the drug store. It had been a mutually successful visit.
