"It Was Me!": 2006

A friend called. She had a tale to tell of her grandson who was misbehaving.

His parents had repeatedly told him that he was in danger of getting on Santa's Naughty List. No use. Nothing worked.

The young mother told Anthony, "You know, grandma talks to Santa on the telephone." That got his attention!"Grandma," said Anthony, after making a phone call." Mom says you talk to Santa on the telephone. Do you?"

"Yes I do, and he has been telling me that someone in my family is on the naughty list."

Even before she finished her sentence, Anthony blurted out, "It's me! I'm the one on the Naughty List!"

The next time grandma was talking with her daughter, she was pleased to hear that Anthony was on his very best behavior.

When Santa visited the family he told Anthony that he was now on the Nice List, but that could change at any time between now and Christmas. Anthony looked contemplative.

Nice to know grandmas have an "in" with Santa Claus.
